Alltech Fennoaqua Ltd. announces public consultation for upcoming ASC audit
Alltech Fennoaqua is preparing for an important audit to achieve certification from the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). This certification will highlight the company’s commitment to sustainable and responsible aquaculture practices.
Alltech Fennoaqua Ltd. has announced that its production site in Raisio, Finland, will undergo an audit from June 17 to 19 to receive certification from the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC).
The ASC is a globally recognised, independent, nonprofit organisation dedicated to promoting environmentally and socially responsible aquaculture production. Certification by the ASC signifies that a company adheres to stringent standards designed to minimise the impact of fish farming on the environment and to ensure the continued use of responsible operational practices.
DNV, an independent third-party certification body, will conduct the audit.
As part of the audit process, Alltech Fennoaqua invites and encourages the public to submit comments and suggestions related to the company’s aquaculture practices.
“We welcome feedback from the community and stakeholders to ensure we are meeting the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility,” said Tomi Kantola, CEO of Alltech Fennoaqua. “We are committed to sustainable aquaculture practices and believe that transparency and public engagement are crucial to achieving this goal.”
